A hyperbaric oxygen therapy suite

Building an HBOT chamber inside a premium Doha hospital, where the room itself is a pressure vessel and every system has to respect 100% oxygen.

A hyperbaric oxygen therapy suite
2.4xAtmospheric pressure, working
100%Oxygen environment
24/7Clinical availability

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy puts patients in a chamber at more than twice atmospheric pressure, breathing pure oxygen. For the hospital it is a clinical service. For the contractor it is a room where almost every normal rule of building services stops applying.

Green Square delivered the MEP fit-out for an HBOT suite at a premium hospital in Doha. Oxygen-rich atmospheres turn minor fire risks into serious ones, so every material, every cable, every fixture inside the treatment envelope had to be specified for the environment. Standard electrical fittings do not survive that review.

The mechanical scope was the hard part. The chamber needs medical-grade gas supply and exhaust that cycle with pressurisation, climate control that keeps patients comfortable while the air around them is compressed and heated by the process, and interlocks that guarantee a safe abort path at every stage of a treatment session.

Fire protection inside a hyperbaric suite is its own discipline: water-based suppression inside the chamber, oxygen-compatible detection, and a shutdown sequence coordinated with the clinical team's own protocols. We commissioned the suite alongside the chamber manufacturer and the hospital's engineering department, session by simulated session.

The hospital name and detailed performance figures will be published once cleared for release. If you are planning specialist clinical environments, hyperbaric or otherwise, this is exactly the kind of project we enjoy.

In an HBOT suite the room is the machine. The contractor is building the treatment.
